Absolutely! A few years ago, the State changed the regulations and made it illegal to bring deer BONES from any other state into Alabama. As long as you debone your meat first, there is no problem with bringing DEBONED meat to us from other States. We would love to process it for you!
What do you vacuum pack?
Because quality is a priority for us, we vacuum pack all of your meat to ensure freshness for a long time.
Is there an extra charge for vacuum packing?
No, because quality is so important to us, we vacuum pack all of our products. We want you to be happy with your product if you pull it out of your freezer a year from now. Vacuum packing ensures that your product will keep its quality.
How do you package your burger?
We vacuum pack your burger in two pound very thick packaging to ensure it will be fresh when you pull it back out. No bloody burger bags, just neat and tidy.
Do I need to call before I drop off my meat?
No, customers may drop off their meat anytime during regular business hours. Every customer is important to us and we will always "make room" for your meat. We have a great deal of storage space, and will not turn down your meat because we are low on space.
Why do you do your pickups by appointment?
You can pick up your meat anytime during regular business hours, as long as we know that day, atleast one hour in advance. The reason we do it this way is so that you don't have to wait in our lobby while we go in the freezer to move all the meat around to get your order. It also helps to keep us organized, since during gun season, there are usually numerous people dropping off and picking up at the same time. It is our experience that an organized effort produces a much better result.
How long will it take to process my order?
Most orders are ready within two weeks. During the height of gun seasons, it sometimes takes up to three weeks, just depending on how many orders have dropped off in front of you.
Can you tell me how much my order is going to make and cost?
Yes, when you drop off your order already quartered we will weigh it. From there, depending on how you want it, we can calculate how much it will make, and approximately how much it will cost. We don't like big surprises and don't figure you do either. It's hard to guess what your ice chest full of deer and ice weighs, so we take the guess work out of it and let you know how we are going to make it and how much you will get back. We want to make sure you are getting what you want and know up front how much it will cost. We'll give you a copy of the estimate to take home with you. IF you drop off a deer that has not been quartered we cannot give a total until it has been taken apart. In that case feel free to call us the next day to get your total.
How much do you charge to debone?
We charge 69 cents per pound to debone. If you have deboned meat and meat on the bone, we weigh the meat separately and only charge for the meat that has bone in it. Keep in mind, if the deer was harvested out of State, it does have to be deboned before bringing it into Alabama.
Do I need to leave my ice chest?
No, we hope that you can be using your ice chest while we are processing your order. We put your meat in our numbered container and you take your ice chest back home with you.
After you have called and told me my order is ready, how soon do I have to pick it up?
We ask that you please pick up your order within three days of the phone call telling you its ready.
Do I need to pay for my order when I drop my meat off?
No, you can if you would like to, but you don't need to pay for it until you pick it up.
Do you skin deer?
No, we do not have the labor to skin deer. Please bring them quartered, clean, hair and dirt free! We only accept clean meat. While we don’t recommend soaking your meat, we will not accept meat soaked in anything but water and not for more than a day or two.
